Chancellor ‘looking at a capital gains raid’

CHANCELLOR Rachel Reeves’ expected autumn tax raid could include an assault on capital gains, it was feared last night.

Labour's favourite tax guru has renewed calls to target the levy.

Arun Advani, who heads the Centre for the Analysis of Taxation think-tank, believes changing capital gains tax to raise cash from the richest people would be more productive than a separate tax on wealth.
