YET again, Bonfire Night turned into one of violence, chaos and mayhem as unruly youths ran amok on the streets of the UK, attacking police, firefighters and members of the public with fireworks (“Guy Fawkes night panic as youths go on the rampage at bonfires’, Scottish Daily Express, November 7).

In Edinburgh, police officers were called to break up gangs of youths within the Calder Road and Sighthill Park areas, while fireworks were directed at police and firefighters’ vehicles in Anniesland, Glasgow.
