LINE of Duty’s Martin Compston has praised Sir Billy Connolly for his “incredible bravery” in dealing with Parkinson’s disease.
The legendary comedian, 83, was diagnosed with the devastating neurological condition in 2013 and announced his retirement in 2018.
Compston, who is co-hosting tonight's Hoolie In The Hydro dedicated to Billy, said the Scottish comic, nicknamed the Big Yin, has battled the disease “with a smile on his face and cracking jokes that only Billy can”.

The Greenock-born actor was “chuffed” to be asked to present the night of traditional music in Glasgow, despite not being a fan of public speaking.
