Good Samaritans come to rescue of Ina, 80, after escalator fall on city trip

A Cambuslang woman has hailed the kindhearted Good Samaritans who made sure she got home safely after a hospital visit.

Ina Thomas, 80, had been shopping in Glasgow when she fell down the escalator in Sports Direct in the city’s Argyle Street.
The pensioner was taken to Glasgow Royal Infirmary for treatment and upon her release, a generous couple paid for her taxi ride home.
Ina, who is a trustee with the Cambuslang-based LEAP charity, explained:"I had been in the Royal for hours before I was fit enough to go home and I hadn’t a clue where the nearest cash machine was.
"I asked a young couple for directions, but they just took over.
"They asked where I lived, phoned a taxi and paid for it before I could say anything.
