Door opens on new era of safety at flats

Multi-storey residents in Rutherglen have received new fire doors thanks to a £670,000 safety boost.
New, engineered timber fire doors have been supplied and installed to 164 residences at Greenhill Court.
The £670,000 contract was undertaken on behalf of South Lanarkshire Council by the CCG Group, and forms part of a larger planned maintenance programme worth up to £10m that has been ongoing across the local authority since 2022.
The door sets - comprising of the door leaf as well as the surrounding frame for all flat entrances, common passageways and stores - were fabricated by CCG's in-house manufacturing division just two miles from the address at the company's headquarters in Cambuslang.
