A Cambuslang-based charity that serves the whole of South Lanarkshire highlighted the need for vital services across the region at its annual general meeting.

- ROBERT MITCHELL

LEAP helps older people remain an active part of the community and feel safer in their homes through free befriending and handyperson services and activities and classes for anyone aged 50 and over.

And the lifeline charity's 33rd AGM highlighted the vital services that it provides to older people throughout South Lanarkshire.

Attended by more than 100 people, the event celebrated the role not just of the charity, but also the hundreds of volunteers responsible for delivering LEAP's front-line services.
