Pride intact for beaten Borough

BACUP Borough's season came to a close with a 3-0 defeat against Southport FC in the final of the Lancashire Challenge Trophy.
The game, held at the Lancashire Football Association’s County Ground HQ, was the ideal location for the Borough support-ers to show their appreci-ation towards the players who have given every-thing for the club in reach-ing their fourth final in three seasons.
Unfortunately on the night the strength and fit-ness levels of the Vanarama National League North side were just too much for Brent Peters’ team, but that didn’t deter Borough from putting up a stern test against the Sandground-ers.
As always with Peters, the preparations were perfectly planned with Borough enjoying the pre-match at the nearby Far-ington Lodge hotel. It was also the manager's way of gathering all of his staff together to address the players and make several presentations.
Awards were presented to club captain Michael Gervin for reaching an amazing milestone of 350 appearances for Bacup Borough, and Debra O'Connor was presented with a bouquet of flowers to celebrate her birthday and the tireless work she does around the club.
