A COUNCILLOR will be running 70 miles this month in memory of her mother.
-
Samara Barnes, County Councillor for Rossendale West and councillor for Helmshore ward, has been running nearly every day this month to reach her goal of running 70 miles in June in memory of her mum, Colleen Wightman.
The fundraiser aims to honour Colleen's life and raise money for Barnardo's, a charity close to the family's heart.
Samara said: "I wanted to mark what would have been her 70th birthday and do so in a way that was fitting for her.
