BENNETT HAT-TRICK SEALS SEMI-FINAL WIN OVER CLIPSTONE
RETFORD FC set up a play-off final date with Blackstones FC with a resounding 4-0 victory over Clipstone.
The two clubs were no strangers to each other this season with Clipstone winning in the Notts Senior Cup and Retford doing the double in the league so the game was expected to be a tight affair.
The opening stages were cagey as both sides weighed each other up in this one-off semi-final clash, the first opportunity falling to Retford as Jacob Priestnall charged down the ball, sending it towards the keeper who was able to collect with both hands.
Aaron Sennett-Neilson's cross in was cleared to the feet of Sam Tingle who put the ball over the bar.
Sennett-Neilson was involved again soon after, his shot was at the keeper as Retford started to show their dominance.
Tingle saw his volley from inside the area fly inches off target.
Retford looked dangerous on set pieces. A corner sent in had the keeper well beaten but was too far away from Scott Boden to get a touch.
