I had a chance interaction with one of the nationalist thinkers on how to develop a new-age university for imparting holistic education rooted in cultural heritage while embracing the promise of 2lst-century education. Subsequently, | found Pragjyotishpur University in Guwahati that celebrates Assam's rich culture yet imparting modern education.

Inspired by the historic name of Pragjyotishpur, the ancient cradle of knowledge in the Kamarupa region, the university embodies the cultural and intellectual spirit of Assam while aspiring to achieve global academic excellence. Established on 17thOctober 2022, through the enactment of Pragjyotishpur University Act No. XLVI of 2022 by the Government of Assam, the university stands as a beacon of knowledge, bridging India's civilizational wisdom with contemporary global aspirations. It represents a transformative initiative in Bharat's higher education landscape. Sponsored by the Shankardev Education and Research Foundation (SERF)- a voluntary organization dedicated to promoting quality higher education and instilling Bharatiya values among youth.

NEP 2020-Aligned Education for a Knowledge-Driven Future

Being a post-NEP-2020 University and thus living to the spirit of the National Education Policy, Pragjyotishpur University offers a liberal, multidisciplinary, and future-ready education.
