Refereeing The Midfield Debate

The debate regarding who is overall a greater midfield player among the English mega-legends Frank Lampard, Paul Scholes and Steven Gerrard has lingered on for quite a while.

This discussion has often failed to produce a definite answer even after much analysis, endless barroom arguments and infinite polls. The three midfielders from England's golden generation had pretty parallel careers which spanned for about two decades, roughly from 1998-2013. All three of them led their respective clubs to massive success over the years and were very much involved in building and sustaining the rich legacy of their teams all the while they played for them. The trio also played together for the England National Team, but they could not fit as sometimes too many legends become a nuisance tactically and otherwise. The aim here would be to have a certain answer on who is greater among the three after delving into their football poetry and saga.The players will also be given a rating out of 10, with 10 being the parameter of being a supreme midfield grandmaster, an archetype someone only like Zinedine Zidane and Andres Iniesta would perfectly match.
