Protecting the fundamental rights of pensioners, the decision of the Honorable Supreme Court of India, which was given on December 17, 1982, that pension is a right of a retired employee and not a privilege.
Keeping this in mind, on December 17, 2025, under the chairmanship of President Madan Gopal, Punjab State Pensioners and Senior Citizens Welfare Association District Amritsar celebrated Pensioners' Day at Shivala Bhaiyan Amritsar near Pushpavati Hall. Punjab State Confederation President Karam Singh Dhanoa attendedas the chief guest. First, a twominute silence was observed to pay tribute to the departed comrades. Madan Lal Mannan, General Secretary, presented the agenda and conducted the proceedings. Lakhbir Singh Dhot explained the importance of Pensioners' Day.
