CHRISTIANS represent the majority in South Africa, much like in the USA. However, it is crucial to acknowledge that despite this demographic reality, the Christian voice has been systematically silenced in our democracy. Christian activism, which laid the foundation for the Struggle, has been relegated to the sidelines, overshadowed by a Constitution that acts as an “alternative Bible of pie-in-the-sky values”.
Unlike in the USA, Christians in South Africa are not informed that the essence of democracy, and freedom here stems from the secularisation of New Testament values, rebranded as “rights”.
