Justice served, but at what cost?

“MARRIED father of two pleads guilty to killing his lover with 4-pound hammer” (the POST, May 28 - June 1) refers.

This article delivers a resounding message: justice has been served. Yet, for the community of Chatsworth, this verdict arrived under a shroud of shame.
Once more, we walk with heads bowed, weighed down by the horror of such brutality.
This murder has left me and surely many others grieving not just for Vyakasha Sookdew, but for the very loss of our humanity.
What else can we call it when trust is shattered, when safety is violated in our own community?
