THE disturbing report last week on the cowardly cancellation of Dr Taj Hargey’s public presentation at both Sastri College as well as the 1860 Heritage Centre is hugely contentious, and heads should roll.
This embarrassing episode is a grave indictment on our so-called democracy when supposedly progressive institutions like Sastri College (and its alumni association) could deny a former pupil who is an acknowledged Islamic historian, his fundamental constitutional rights to free express
