More than £100,000 from the Police and Crime Commissioner's budget was spent in August to manage protests across Hampshire and the Isle of Wight.
People take part in a counter protest to the Stand Up To Racism rally in Guildhall Square, Portsmouth on August 22
Police and Crime Commissioner Donna Jones revealed the figure during a meeting of the Hampshire and Isle of Wight Police and Crime Panel.
Mrs Jones said that the force is among those dealing with the highest number of protests each month.
On the weekend of October 18, four protests took place across the county. Protests have taken place most Friday evenings outside the Royal Beach Hotel in Southsea, with occasional others elsewhere in the city.
