Steep 1sts went top of Division 3 of the Portsmouth & District League with a 4-0 home win over Alverstoke 1sts.

Alverstoke then dented Southsea 1sts’ title hopes by beating them at home by two games, with captain James Warren and Dave Gaterall recovering from dropping their first set 7-6 to win the next four.
