With the cost-of-living crisis still squeezing household budgets, Halloween might feel like yet another seasonal pressure point.
The average UK family's Halloween spending varies, but data from finder.com suggests an average of £25 per person, though many plan to spend less than £20.
Another estimate from Money Wellness indicated a family of four could spend up to £300, covering costumes, sweets, pumpkins, decorations, and party food.
Average spending breakdown (estimate based on Money Wellness): For a family of four, the costs can add up quickly: Costumes: £76 for two adults and two children Sweets/treats: £26.50 for trick-or-treaters Decorations: £64 to transform the home Pumpkins: £7.60 for four pumpkins, plus a carving kit Party food: £46 Party drinks: £62.40.
