Park transformation starts to take shape
Perthshire Advertiser
|May 02, 2025
The ongoing transformation of Auchterarder’s Public Park continues to gather pace.
A new mountain bike trail and pump track facility were installed by local charity Auchterarder Community Sports and Recreation (ACSR) recently.
Both additions, which have been accessible since March, were built by contractors Velosolutions and come hot on the heels of a new children's play park and 'Pocket Forest' opening in 2023.
The vision for a mountain bike trail in the park stretches back as far as 2017, when a feasibility study was commissioned by what was then known as Auchterarder Community Sports Association and produced by Perth and Kinross Council's community greenspace department.
ACSR development manager Tim Hart explained funding was sourced from a variety of providers.
He said: “We are extremely grateful for the funding support we have had for our project.
“There were some donations from ACSR members and members of the local community - but the bulk of the funding was sourced from external partners.”
