New boss Norrie records first Midlands League victory

- SPORTS REPORTER

New boss Gordon Norrie earned his first win as Letham manager following a 3-0 away win over Kirrie Thistle in the top tier of the Midlands League on Saturday.

A combination of excellent organisation, lethal finishing and effective game management sealed all three points for the Perth side at Westview Park.

Letham came out of the blocks quickly and opened the scoring after just two minutes against their Angus opponents when Liam Strong worked space out on the left and fired in a dangerous cross, and the Kirrie defender was unlucky to turn the ball into his own net.

The remainder of the half was a largely even affair, though hosts Thistle were perhaps in control for spells as they made the most of home advantage.

Letham scored a second after 37 minutes when Liam Strong headed home expertly from an Aaron Carlon corner to add to his side's lead.
