Design accolade Riverside Primary, which opened in June 2024, is Scotland's first ever accredited Passivhaus school
The groundbreaking Riverside Primary School building in Perth has been described as “exemplary” by judges in a national architecture award.
Riverside, which opened in June 2024, is Scotland's first ever accredited Passivhaus school which uses very little energy for heating and cooling-cutting energy usage by 60 to 80 per cent.
It is among 11 buildings recognised in The Royal Incorporation of Architects in Scotland (RIAS) awards 2025.
The school was built on the site of the now-demolished North Muirton Primary School as a replacement for that school and the former Balhousie Primary School.
