A better future for Scotland
Perthshire Advertiser
|July 15, 2025
Last summer, voters across Scotland played a key part in electing a UK Labour Government.
The election brought an end to 14 years of Conservative government at Westminster-a tenure which was characterised by Brexit, economic decline, division and the chaos of a near revolving door of Prime Ministers. That has been replaced with a Labour Government focused on delivering for working people-and already the difference is clear.
A record settlement for the Scottish Government has been secured; there has been a pay rise for 200,000 of the lowest paid Scots through a boost to the minimum wage, and four interest rate cuts in a row have provided cheaper mortgages for homeowners.
In just twelve months, Labour has begun rebuilding the foundations of our economy and public services.
