81-year-old pilot killed in light plane incident

A pilot has died after a light plane crashed in Kinross.

Emergency services were called to the scene at an airfield near Scotlandwell, near Glenrothes, at about 1.40pm on Monday, October 27. Police said that the pilot, an 81-year-old man, was pronounced dead at the scene.

No one else was injured in the incident. The man has not been named but his next of kin have been made aware.

A Police Scotland spokesman said: “Around 1.40pm on Monday, October 27, we received a report of a light plane crash at an airfield near Scotlandwell, Kinross.
