For Rukeya Jacobs Wednesday 18 June will always hold a special place in her heart. It is the day she officially became a homeowner. Having signed the title deed, she said, she now has something she can pass on to her children.

The Kensington resident is one of 12 who received their titled deeds on Wednesday.

The Mayor spoke of the transformative power of home ownership.

She has been living the area for over 54 years.
