EQUIP THE COMMUNITY WITH PRACTICAL KNOWLEDGE
The Community Policing Forum (CPF) of Pinelands recently hosted an informative dementia awareness session, highlighting the impact of the condition on individuals, families and the wider society.
The event featured keynote speaker Joseph Klassen, who provided a detailed overview of dementia, its stages, types and the support needed by those affected.
He addressed the progressive stages of dementia mild, moderate and severe, explaining the symptoms and challenges associated with each phase. The audience was guided through practical ways to support individuals living with dementia at each stage, including strategies to improve communication, manage daily routines and promote safety.
