Vice-Chairman Gillespie could make Ibrox switch

St Mirren vice-chairman Jim Gillespie is reportedly a leading candidate to become Rangers chief executive.
The role is one Gillespie (inset) rejected just over a year ago before the Light Blues went on to appoint Patrick Stewart who was interim CEO at English Premier League giants Manchester United.
However, Stewart-along with sporting director Kevin Thelwell-were given the bullet in November after a change in direction from the Ibrox ownership.
The search for a replacement for both roles is well underway with Gillespie now one of the names on chairman Andrew Cavenagh's shortlist.
