An appeal for cash to buy an emergency vehicle for the Royal Alexandra Infirmary got off to a cracking start.

An action group at the hospital collected almost £1000 after only one month.
The appeal, headed by Dr Donald McLean, had a target figure of £13,000, we told in April 1980.
