Jobcentre staff are encouraging people to consider seasonal work as a stepping stone into long-term employment.

Work coaches supporting people from across Renfrewshire say the hospitality and retail industries offer some great opportunities over the festive period.

Karen Tonks from Barrhead Jobcentre said: "A temporary job can be a powerful stepping stone— offering more than just income.

"It builds confidence, develops new skills and provides valuable experience. It's a great way to stay active, make connections and often leads to longer-term opportunities.
