It involves abusing a series of different drugs and is thought to be one of the reasonswhy Scotland hasthe highest drug-related death rate in Europe.
Itisparticularly fatal when people mix methadone prescriptions with heroin and/or benzodiazepines.
The impact of benzodiazepines has been keenly felt in Renfrewshire inthe past seven to 10 years.
