Paisley hospital staff to get eight per cent pay increase

Staff at Paisley's Royal Alexandra and Dykebar hospitals are set to receive an eight per cent pay increase over the next two years after a deal was ratified by trade unions.

Both Unison and Unite trade unions-who represent porters, cleaners, caterers, administrators, medical equipment managers, scientists and healthcare assistants -said their members overwhelmingly backed the pay offer in recent ballots.

The offer includes a 4.25 per cent uplift in wages for the 2026/26 financial year and 3.75 per cent for 2026/27.

It also comes with an "inflation guarantee"meaning that pay increases will be at least one per cent above the Consumer Price Index (CPI) rate.
