Upgrade The latest stage of Scottish Water's £16m project is underway and expected to be complete next spring
Work on the third phase of a key £16 million waste water project is underway.
The strategic rising sewer main will carry waste water from Renfrew for treatment in Glasgow.
Scottish Water took the decision to accelerate the design and delivery of this major infrastructure project following multiple bursts over recent years.
However, residents and businesses have been advised the latest stage of works will run on until next spring despite an initial Christmas completion date.
Nearly a mile of pipe has already been relined from North Lodge pumping station, and along King's Inch Road in Renfrew, since work began in February last year.
Work has now begun to build a temporary overland pipeline to allow the underground pipe running between Crofton Way and Laymoor Avenue to be upgraded.
