Miniature railway on track with homes firm cash boost

A Paisley community group has been awarded close to £1000 by Miller Homes Scotland West.

The national homebuilders has awarded £950 to the Paisley Society of Model Engineers (Paisley SME) through its Community Fund initiative.
The grant will help support essential maintenance and improvements to the group's facilities at Barshaw Park.
Originally established in 1955 as the Rolls Royce Model Engineering Club, Paisley SME has become a well-loved fixture in the local community.
Its miniature railway, located in Barshaw Park, has been operating for over 50 years and continues to delight thousands of visitors each summer—with around 4,000 passengers enjoying the ride during a typical season.
