Maciej in the driver's seat as top in Scotland

A Johnstone bus driver has been named the best in Scotland at a top awards ceremony.
Maciej Herman, who works for McGill's Buses, took first place in the Scottish category and third overall at the 2025 Bus Driver of the Year competition.
Maciej was one of four entrants from McGill's who secured places in the UK top 15.
Originally from Poland, Maciej moved to Scotland 18 years ago and joined McGill’s Group in 2015 as a trainee driver, with the firm sponsoring him to gain his PCV licence and CPC qualification.
Nearly a decade on, Maciej - who is based at the Johnstone depot - is admired by colleagues and customers alike for his professionalism and dedication.
Maciej won McGill's in-house regional heat earlier this year before being put forward for the national competition in Blackpool.
