This was a fine win on the road for Arthurlie who leapfrogged Renfrew to move into the top half of the West of Scotland League Premier Division.

'Frew - still playing as tenants at McKenna Park, the home of St Anthony’s while renovations are completed at their New Western Park base - took an early lead on Saturday although ‘Lie fought back.

Jimmy Quigley’s side then lost Kieran Healy to two yellow cards before the break.

‘Lie began the second half well to take the lead with ‘Frew levelling only for the Barrhead side to clinch it through a late Michael MacNeil penalty awarded after Fraser Scott was brought down in the box.

Delighted ‘Lie gaffer William Dyer said: “It was a great win and that was a massive three points as that gets us up the table to where we want to be.

“It can be hard playing against 10 men at times but we did enough to win it with a substitute winning the late penalty and our captain scoring it.
