Jailed charity boss slammed

A former charity director who embezzled over £54,000 from a hardship fund to buy booze has been slammed for her "appalling breach of financial trust".

The Express told how Catherine Bell was jailed for 18 months after admitting she stole more than £54,000 from Jewish Care Scotland over a five-year period while working for the charity as a senior social care worker.
The 70-year-old set up payments for four families totalling between £35 and £70 each week.
As well as those regular payments, Bell also applied for one-off amounts.
