Robinson recognises milestone but admits a drop in form would see calls for him to be axed

- TAYLOR MURRAY

Stephen Robinson is “proud” to have led St Mirren in 150 games - but insists managerial job security is fragile now compared to days gone by.

The Buddies gaffer reached the major milestone against Forfar Athletic, where he watched his side run out 2-1 winners in the Premier Sports Cup, thanks to Jayden Richardson and Mikael Mandron.

Since being appointed in February 2022 after Jim Goodwin left to join Aberdeen, Robbo has taken the black-and-white army on a journey with a hat-trick of top-six finishes as well as reaching Europe for the first time in 37 years.

Now, more than 150 games later, he says the success of the club is a team effort.

"I've been at the football club for three-and-a-half years but I certainly [haven't achieved all that] alone," he said.

"That's massive credit to the club here, the players and the staff that we've been able to over achieve and stay in the job and long may that continue."
