Rangers fans are hoping to have a minute’s applause in memory of a demolition worker who died following an incident in Paisley.
Derek Russell, 36, was rushed to hospital after the incident on Waverley Road in Foxbar on Friday morning.
A trauma team including three ambulances, three fire engines and dozens of police officers were dispatched to the scene.
Sadly, the father-of-six could not be saved and died on Saturday.
Light Blues supporters are now looking to pay tribute to one of their own during the Scottish Cup fourth round tie with Annan Athletic on Friday night at Ibrox.
An Instagram post from rangers.extra55 said Derek’s loved ones had reached out requesting the tribute which they hoped would take place in the 36th minute.
The fan page, with 13,000 followers, shared a photo of Derek alongside ex-Rangers midfielder Scott Arfield.
It added: “This is Derek who sadly gained his wings in the early hours of the morning on the 10th of January which involved an accident at his work place.
