Robinson hails 'black-and-white army' for inspiring trophy belief

- TAYLOR MURRAY

Stephen Robinson says the black-and-white army’s unwavering support is the reason St Mirren have the faith to go on and win the Premier Sports Cup.

The Buddies gaffer is entering his third final as a manager after losing both the League Cup and Scottish Cup to Celtic with Motherwell in the 2017-18 campaign.

He is looking forward to locking horns with the Hoops once again in tomorrow's Hampden showdown.

And the Northern Irishman is going into the occasion “more experienced” than his last appearances on the grand stage as he aims to give the fans who have backed his team since he came through the door in February 2022 a day to remember.

“I go into it with a lot more experience than I did at Motherwell,” he said. “I’d only managed a few games at that stage when we got the two cup finals.

“You can probably enjoy the occasion a little bit more.
