A former Renfrewshire MSP and SNP minister who quit in disgrace has been advising on the controversial Flamingo Land project.
Derek Mackay, who was Nicola Sturgeon’s finance secretary until he was revealed to have been bombarding a 16-year-old boy with inappropriate messages, has helped the firm behind plans for a resort at Loch Lomond that has been met with huge opposition.
Mackay was MSP for Renfrewshire North and West until 2021 and is a former leader of Renfrewshire Council.
Concerns have been raised over the involvement of Mackay, who also previously held the role of planning minister in the SNP administration.
Labour MSP Jackie Baillie said: "It is extraordinary that Lomond Banks appears to have employed Derek Mackay as a consultant.
