Councillors back fight to save GP surgery

Renfrewshire councillors have thrown their weight behind the campaign to retain The New Surgery in Langbank.
Elected members backed Councillor James MacLaren’s demand that NHS chiefs do more to keep the GP surgery open.
The Scottish Conservative and Unionist councillor used a meeting of the full council to call for NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde to maintain GP services and a GP surgery in Langbank.
Councillor MacLaren highlighted that it is in fact Inverclyde Health and Social Care Partnership who are responsible for the Langbank surgery, even though it is situated in Renfrewshire.
