Councillor is 'honoured' to run as MSP candidate

An SNP councillor has declared “the hard work starts now” after she was confirmed as her party’s candidate for the new Renfrewshire North and Cardonald seat at next year’s Scottish Parliament elections.
Michelle Campbell, who represents Erskine and Inchinnan on Renfrewshire Council, said she was “proud” to share that she will be seeking election to Holyrood in May 2026.
A nurse with two decades of experience in the NHS, she has been an elected member in the local authority since 2017 and is also the convener of the infrastructure, land and environment policy board.
In a statement, Councillor Campbell said: “I want to sincerely thank all members across the constituency for your support, encouragement and belief in me.
“It means so much and I am honoured to represent us all as we work towards winning this vital seat.
