Axing village surgery would be 'devastating'

The planned closure of a Renfrewshire surgery has been described as a “hammer blow” for the local community.
Langbank’s The New Surgery is at risk of being closed permanently after plans by Inverclyde Health and Social Care Partnership (HSCP) were revealed to close the GP practice.
The New Surgery, which also has a branch in Kilmalcolm, would mean anyone wishing to use the GP surgery would need to make an extra eight-mile round trip from Langbank should it end up being closed.
