Rape accused jumps off terrace, critical

A rape accused sustained critical injuries after he jumped off the terrace of a building in a bid to escape after raping an 8-year old girl under Plant Site police limits in Rourkela Sunday evening.
The accused was identified as Md. Saddam Hussain, 27, a resident of old RDA building along Mahatab Road in the city. He reportedly fractured his legs and sustained critical injuries on his waist. Locals and police overpowered and admitted him to the Rourkela Government Hospital (RGH) for treatment.
