Will Postecoglou stay pragmatic or take positive approach as he looks to ease pressure on his Forest future
Nottingham Post
|October 16, 2025
ANGE Postecoglou will know all too well how much is at stake when Nottingham Forest return to action this weekend.
The Reds head coach is without a win from his seven games in charge and is under significant pressure.
There has been no shortage of speculation about his future during this international break.
The last time Forest played at the City Ground, against FC Midtjylland in the Europa League, fans made their feelings toward Postecoglou perfectly clear. The atmosphere turned ugly as they chanted about him getting the sack.
The 60-year-old remains in charge for now, but it remains to be seen for how much longer. He needs results quickly if he is to retain the faith of owner Evangelos Marinakis.
The Reds need results for their own cause, too.
It is still very early in the season but they are 17th in the Premier League table ahead of Saturday's clash with Chelsea on the banks of the Trent (12.30pm kickoff).
Prior to the fortnight’s hiatus, Postecoglou adopted a more pragmatic approach against Newcastle United in the north east.
