University strike suspended after management offers new talks

PLANNED strike action at the University of Nottingham has been suspended after the university committed to no compulsory redundancies before the end of next year.

On Tuesday last week, management met negotiators from the University and College Union (UCU).

In response to the industrial action, the university has now committed to no compulsory redundancies before October 2026, as well as agreeing to “meaningful” conversations about alternatives to the suspension and closure of 48 degree programmes.
