Suspect held after early village swoop by police

A SUSPECT has been arrested after cash, a watch and keys were stolen in a string of incidents in a village.

Police were called to Ruddington in the early hours of Wednesday after vans and cars parked on driveways were targeted.

Thefts took place on Larkspur Drive, Teasel Close and Woodruff Close and cash, a watch and keys were among the items stolen.

Police spotted a van parked on Anemone Grove with its doors open and tools scattered on the floor.

A man was seen running into a nearby back garden but was detained after a chase.
