HIS WEBSITE ALSO CLAIMS SIX BOOKS WRITTEN WHILE HE WAS LOCKED UP HAVE BEEN 'BANNED'

- By OLIVER PRIDMORE

NOTTINGHAM stalker Alex Belfield has been let out early from prison but says it is "impossible" to go ahead with the tour he had planned after his release.

The former BBC presenter is now out of HMP Fosse Way in Leicestershire on licence conditions, which his website claims are "unprecedented."

The Ministry of Justice says it is unable to comment on an individual's licence conditions, but Belfield's website now claims the six books he wrote in prison have been "banned."

A nationwide tour has also been postponed and people who booked tickets, some of which cost as much as £495, are now being given refunds.

Belfield was jailed in September 2022 over a campaign of stalking which saw him target two BBC presenters, a videographer and a theatre blogger.

The former BBC Radio Leeds presenter was sentenced to a total of five years and 26 weeks, with the court making it clear at the time that he would serve half of this in prison and the other half on licence.
