Road will close during demolition of car park

IT WILL CREATE SPACE FOR REVAMP OF BROAD MARSH AREA
PLANS to demolish a multi-storey car park have been tabled as part of the continuing redevelopment of the Broad Marsh area.
In March last year, Nottingham City Council revealed government housing agency Homes England, had bought the Broad Marsh site.
Included in the purchase is the NCP car park and the former People’s College in Maid Marian Way.
Homes England has now submitted plans for the demolition of both the car park and college, clearing the way for future redevelopment.
According to the plans, the agency is expected to take vacant possession of the car park from NCP in September.
Plans reveal the main arterial route through the city will have to close while the structure is demolished, and the Maid Marian Way route will have to be changed.
