Road changes may be needed before McDonald's gets OK

MAJOR road changes may be needed before McDonald's is able to open its first restaurant in a town after the chain agreed to pay £100,000 for a pedestrian crossing.

Nottinghamshire County Council's highways department is concerned about the traffic implications of the planned takeaway in Kirkby-in-Ashfield. McDonald's withdrew its original plans in October last year.
The restaurant would be off Lane End right opposite an Aldi supermarket and the company has been told to consider how firms like Deliveroo could affect traffic. The plans would have meant drivers entering the restaurant from a road directly opposite Aldi's car park.
