Reds dish out some capital punishment to floor Spurs

NOTTINGHAM Forest climbed back up to third in the Premier League after a 2-1 away win against Tottenham Hotspur last night.

- By SARAH CLAPSON sarah.clapson@reachplc.com @Sarah Clapson

The Reds had lost their previous two games but got back on track in their bid for a Champions League place next season.

And they got off to a flying start against Spurs, taking the lead in the fifth minute. A Forest corner was headed out to the edge of the penalty area and Elliot Anderson hit a fierce strike that took a deflection off Rodrigo Bentancur before finishing in the net.

And moments later Forest thought they had doubled their lead when Chris Wood stabbed home a cross from Anderson. But a VAR check adjudged Wood to have been offside and it was ruled out.
